IMPORTANT: All products sold by Vanta are strictly for IN VITRO research and laboratory use only. They are NOT intended for human or veterinary consumption, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of any disease or condition.
1. Condition of Sale
Everything VantaBioChem LLC lists at vantabiochem.com is supplied for in vitro laboratory research and for nothing else. That restriction is the basis of the sale, not a note attached to it: in consideration of a sale that would otherwise be refused, you covenant to the terms on this page. This covenant is expressly incorporated into the Terms of Sale & Service and is accepted by you at checkout.
Research use only carries the meaning given to it in the regulations and guidance of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It is not a definition we wrote for ourselves, and it is not narrower or broader here than it is there.
This designation describes the purpose the materials are supplied for. It is not a claim about their regulatory status, it does not exempt any material from any law, and it is not the reason a sale is permitted. If a use is prohibited by law, it stays prohibited whatever this page says.
2. What These Products Are
Sealed, labelled units of synthetic chemical material, supplied for in vitro laboratory research. Identity is carried by the product record: catalog number, molecular class, sequence and CAS number where applicable, mass per vial, physical form, appearance, and stated storage conditions. Where documentation exists for an item, the product record names it.
That list is the whole of what we say about a material. Identity, form, mass, documentation, price, availability, and the mechanics of ordering and dispatch — nothing beyond that is published, and the section on what we do not publish sets out why and what happens when it is asked for.
3. What These Products Are Not
- These materials are not drugs, and nothing we supply has been approved, cleared, or authorised by any regulator for use in a person or an animal.
- These materials are not dietary supplements.
- These materials are not food, and they are not food ingredients.
- These materials are not cosmetics.
- These materials are not medical devices, and they are not for in vitro diagnostic use.
- These materials are not veterinary products.
- These materials are not for human or veterinary consumption, and they are not for application to a person or an animal.
- These materials are not for in vivo use and not for ex vivo use.
- These materials are not compounded, not dispensed, and not prescribed.
VantaBioChem LLC is a chemical supplier. We are not a pharmacy. We are not a compounding pharmacy under section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. We are not an outsourcing facility under section 503B of that Act. We are not a drug manufacturer, and no prescriber relationship exists between us and anyone.
4. Prohibited Uses
These are the uses you covenant not to make. The same list appears, in the same words, in the Terms of Sale & Service.
- You may not administer any material to a person or an animal, or introduce any material into a person or an animal by any route.
- You may not use any material in, on, or with a human subject or an animal subject.
- You may not use any material for any clinical, diagnostic, veterinary, food, cosmetic, or household purpose.
- You may not use any material as, or in the making of, a drug, a dietary supplement, a food, a cosmetic, or a medical device.
- You may not use any material outside a laboratory, or outside your own validated protocol and whatever institutional oversight applies to you.
- You may not resell, distribute, or transfer any material to anyone who has not accepted this covenant, and you may not transfer any material to anyone you have reason to believe will put it to a use prohibited here.
- You may not repackage, relabel, or re-present any material in a way that removes or contradicts its research use only designation.
Any transfer carries this covenant with it. If you transfer a material, the recipient takes it on these terms and you remain answerable for having made the transfer.
5. No Validation, Sterility, or Safety Testing
The materials are supplied as they are. They are not validated for any use. They are not sterile. They are not tested for safety and not tested for efficacy in people or in animals, and no such testing is implied by the fact of sale.
We do not publish lot reports at this time. Where we hold documentation for an item, the product record names it; nothing beyond what the product record names should be taken as having been established about a material.
Warranties, their limits, and the remedies available to you are set out in the Terms of Sale & Service.
6. What We Do Not Publish
We publish identity, form, mass, documentation where it exists, price, availability, and logistics. The rest is not published and is not supplied on request.
- We do not publish preparation or reconstitution steps, and we do not supply them on request.
- We do not publish amounts, ratios, schedules, routes, or durations, and we do not supply them on request.
- We do not publish combinations of materials, and we do not supply them on request.
- We do not publish literature summaries, study descriptions, abstracts, citations, or any account of what a material has been examined for.
- We do not publish application guidance of any kind.
Solvent choice, volumes, and working concentrations are determined by the receiving laboratory under its own validated protocol. We do not publish or advise on preparation.
If a question of that kind reaches our support desk, we decline it. We do not answer it privately, we do not answer part of it, and it does not become answerable by being asked a different way. Support handles catalog numbers, order status, payment, and dispatch.
7. Your Obligations as a Purchaser
At checkout you represent three things, and you represent each of them separately: that you are at least 21 years old; that you are acquiring the materials for in vitro laboratory research and for no other purpose; and that you have read and accept the Terms of Sale & Service and this covenant.
You further confirm that the materials will be received and handled by personnel qualified to handle research chemicals, under your own validated protocol and whatever institutional oversight applies to you. You confirm that you are willing and able to obtain and review the applicable safety data sheet before a material is handled, and that you will request one from us at support@vantabiochem.com if you do not already hold it.
You confirm that you have researched the hazards of the use you intend to make, that you have satisfied yourself the material is suitable for it, and that you accept the risk of that use. If anyone else will handle a material — a colleague, someone working with you, or anyone you transfer it to — you will pass on the hazard information you hold.
You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, including any governing the receipt, holding, or handling of the materials where you are. We do not advise on that, and nothing on this page is a statement about the legal position of any material in your jurisdiction.
8. How This Covenant Is Accepted
You accept this covenant at checkout, and the order cannot be placed until you do. Age, research use, and the terms are three separate ticks, none of them pre-ticked and none folded into another. Our system refuses any order whose three answers are not all true; such an order never reaches us.
Stored with the order are the answer you gave to each proposition, the time you gave it, and a SHA-256 hash of the exact text of this document as it stood when you were shown it. The hash is what identifies the version you accepted. Checkout takes guests, so this record is kept with the order whether or not you hold an account.
The consent record is retained for seven (7) years. The Privacy Policy sets out what we hold and how you exercise your rights over it; questions about the consent record go to support@vantabiochem.com and are answered within 45 days.
9. If a Representation Was False
A representation you made at checkout that was not true when you made it is a material breach of this covenant, and so is a use prohibited above.
- We may void the order. If it has not shipped, we cancel it and return any payment already sent to us through peer-to-peer transfer services (as listed at checkout).
- If you hold an account, we may suspend or close it. Accounts are optional here, so this consequence stands alongside the others rather than in place of them.
- We may decline to accept further orders from you.
- We may decline or cancel any order before it ships.
None of this limits any other remedy available to us, and none of it displaces the Returns & Refunds Policy, which governs goods already delivered.
10. Changes to This Covenant
This document is revised from time to time, and the revision that governs your order is the one you accepted at checkout — the hash stored with the order identifies it. Orders we received before a change was published are unaffected by that change. What appears on this page, under the date at the top, is the current version.
11. Governing Law and Related Documents
This covenant forms part of the Terms of Sale & Service and is governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Where this covenant and another of our documents address the same obligation, the wording is the same in both. The Terms of Sale & Service govern the commercial terms of sale, the Shipping Policy covers dispatch, the Returns & Refunds Policy covers replacement and refund, and the Privacy Policy covers what we hold about you.
12. Statutory Notice
Research use only. Not for use in humans or animals.
These materials are supplied for in vitro laboratory research use only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease or condition. They are not for human or veterinary consumption.
13. Questions
Questions about this covenant go to support@vantabiochem.com. Questions about an order, a catalog number, or a shipment go to support@vantabiochem.com. General correspondence goes to support@vantabiochem.com.
Post reaches us at VantaBioChem LLC, Salt Lake City, Utah.
If what you send us falls under what we do not publish, we'll tell you that rather than answer it.
